Sticks Marketing was born out of a desire to make expert marketing services more accessible to purpose-driven businesses & non-profit organizations.
We first worked together as colleagues in charge of marketing at a business improvement association
in British Columbia.
We eventually started our own businesses, with Jasmine focusing on art and design services and Vanessa focusing on copywriting and consulting.
In addition to sharing a passion for helping others succeed, we realized our services were a perfect match for each other. This is how we formed our partnership, Sticks Marketing.
Hiring us means you’re not just hiring a graphic designer and a copywriter. You’ll have an accomplished visual artist and a highly experienced marketing specialist working for you.
You’ll deal directly with us, the owners. We believe in mutual respect and camaraderie. The best work is done within supportive, collaborative relationships.
You’ll also benefit directly from our skills. We do all the work ourselves, and although it's virtually impossible to avoid AI these days, we take a from-scratch approach to our content creation. Sticks is a human organization - aside from Blue, the chihuahua, of course.

Hi! I'm Vanessa, a marketing professional based in the gorgeous Cariboo Chilcotin region of the British Columbia interior.

MY BACKGROUND
I’ve rolled out brands, managed social media channels, written blogs and newspaper columns, co-produced films, hired people, and managed organizations. I’ve worked in economic development, tourism, film, technology, conservation, health, hospitality, and retail.

I live and breathe marketing. I notice great branding, and I can’t unsee the bad stuff. I talk about marketing to whomever will listen. Marketing textbooks are some of my most prized possessions. And writing copy for clients is what truly makes me happy.

I’m a proud Newfoundlander. My husband Robert, an accomplished filmmaker, is from Williams Lake, British Columbia. We love nature, animals, and travel, and we produce a streaming TV series called Restoration Planet.

Hi! I’m Jasmine, a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and artist based on beautiful Vancouver Island.
MY BACKGROUND
I’ve been in the art and design field for over a decade, and seeing art, design, and business development flourish together is what makes me tick. Raised bicoastal between the East and West Coast, I called Williams Lake, BC my home for a number of years and have also lived in Spain and South Korea.
MY SPECIALTY
I specialize in digital and print design, illustration and digital art, logo and brand development, book typesetting, and I offer design services to businesses of all sizes. Most recently I’ve been working within the book publishing industry designing book interiors, book covers, and promotional materials.

Art has always been my first love and I view my job more as a passion than work. Most of my free time goes to painting, reading, playing piano, cooking, and hiking with my husband and tiny chihuahua, Blue.
